The Best Instagram Story Features You Should Be Using

GRIT Blog, The Best Instagram Story Features You Should Be Using

The undeniable popularity and success of Instagram’s stories feature have greatly benefited influencers and businesses alike. However, with Instagram rolling out new changes constantly, it can be difficult to keep up with all the latest trends and features the social media app has to offer. Luckily, our list assorts our favorite Instagram story features so we can help navigate all your social media trendsetter needs!

1. Live Broadcast

Live broadcasts allow users to stream what they’re currently doing to their entire audience. Because of its success, the feature has been heavily revised to include even more features such as inviting users to stream alongside you. To create a live broadcast, swipe left on the bottom of the story camera mode and click the broadcast button in the middle. You can see how many of your current followers are online to gauge when it will be the best time to stream.

2. Music

Instagram allows you to include a short snippet of most songs found on Spotify or request song suggestions from followers. You can also switch between design variations, such as the album cover or lyrics in different fonts. We recommend finding recent trending songs from other reels and TikTok videos to increase engagement!

3. Polls

Polls are a great way to gain quick opinions from your followers. It allows your viewers to select between two customizable options such as”Yes” or “No” and so much more! You can also get creative and spice up your story with fun polls to see what your followers want more content of.

4. Questions

Questions encourage feedback from your story viewers in short descriptions. Sometimes you may be looking for more specific feedback or suggestions than just a two-option poll. In that case, opening up a question box on your story can help! Like many of the rest of the features found here, you can find this feature on your story sticker tab.

5. Quizzes

This feature is great for testing the knowledge of your followers and increasing engagement. While you can test how well they know your product or play a fun trivia game, you can also use quizzes as an alternative to polls for when you want your followers to vote between three or four options instead of just two. However, instead of a percentage calculation, the votes are calculated by raw numbers and only the correct answer will be shown, not the number of votes.

Have you tried these features yet? How have they helped you increase Instagram engagement? Let us know on our profile, @gritstudiogram.
