THE CHALLENGE

Lake & Skye’s instagram account grew quickly when they participated in a celebrity giveaway. Their audience grew, but not with the right people. As a result, their engagement rate suffered, and they began posting engagement bait (kittens+ puppies) to get the metric up. The followers weren’t interested in their content and it was showing.

OUR APPROACH

We implemented measurable content buckets to understand what content their followers were interested in. We shifted the followers back to on-brand content leveraging these results and have been able to maintain the following and rescue the engagement rate.

DATA-DRIVEN RESULTS

We’ve maintained an engagement rate of 5% including promotional content (previously 2%),  and 2% with non-promotional content (previously <1%). Both exceed industry standard for the category. 75% of posts surpass internal engagement goals.
